Google Chart Server API generates QR Codes

Google Chart Server API now generates QR Codes. Simply choose the size in pixels of your barcode and the url you wish to encode. I chose 300 x 300 and http://2d-code.co.uk/ as the url. Facebook Add to Friends QR Code

A new facebook application has just been launched called Add to Friends Shirt which creates a shirt that lets people get in touch with your facebook persona via a QR Code. In the application the facebook user clicks on ‘Make a shirt for me’. QR Code Only Magazine

A Japanese magazine Tada Gets (things for free) is now into its fifth issue. It is composed almost entirely of QR codes and by scanning these codes mobile users link to a variety of free ringtones, decorations, games, music, pictures and other content. Wickd are selling a range of T-shirts with a ShotCode logo on the back. The proprietary two dimensional barcode is unique for every product and is linked to the user. You can link your code to any url such as your own mobile site, your MySpace or Facebook homepage etc. If you use your Wickd profile you can even exchange private messages. Version 4.00 of iMatrix has just been released with a new ShotCode reader. This means iPhone users now have a 2D code processing application that supports proprietary ShotCode as well as standard QR and Datamatrix codes.

Lufthansa uses Aztec Code for paperless boarding.

Lufthansa passengers flying from Hamburg to Frankfurt or Munich can use a mobile boarding pass service. The pass is sent direct to their mobile via email or SMS. Passengers with only hand luggage proceed straight to the security checkpoint and to the gate, where the Aztec Code on their mobile boarding pass is read by a scanner. Roll out to other domestic routes follows throughout the summer....
