Transgender man is pregnant
via Boing Boing by Mark Frauenfelder on March 23, 2008
Thomas Beattie lives in Oregon and is married to a woman named Nancy. He's pregnant. To our neighbors, my wife, Nancy, and I don’t appear in the least unusual. To those in the quiet Oregon community where we live, we are viewed just as we are -- a happy couple deeply in love. Our desire to work hard, buy our first home, and start a family was nothing out of the ordinary. That is, until we...

Pranksters (?) hood a Google Street View cam with a plastic bag
via Boing Boing by Cory Doctorow on May 07, 2008
David sez, "Someone put a plastic bag over the camera cluster on one of Google's Street View cars, and the resulting imagery seems to have made it right through to Google Maps."Of course, maybe the bag just blew over the cameras. We can be quite sure this is a plastic bag too, because it actually says “plastic bag” on it. Unfortunately we’re not familiar enough with Alaskan plastic bags...

Steamy tell-all memoir by a Disneyland "Jack Sparrow"
via Boing Boing by Cory Doctorow on May 21, 2008
Los Angeles Magazine has a tell-all memoir penned by one of the "Jack Sparrows" that play Disneyland -- a steamy tale of resistance and women throwing themselves at you.I'll be honest: I didn’t follow all the Disney rules. I played Jack like he was real, and if a woman flirted, I would flirt back. Women loved it. But there were also women who would have too many beers at California...

Short documentary on reverse graffiti artist
via Boing Boing by David Pescovitz on June 16, 2008
A few months ago, "reverse graffiti" artist Moose traveled to San Francisco where he created a lovely mural by cleaning grime from the walls of San Francisco's Broadway Tunnel. Moose calls himself a "professor of dirt." Documentary filmmaker Doug Pray (Scratch, Hype!, etc.) made a short film about the artwork. It seems to be a bit of viral propaganda for a "green" cleaning supply company, but...

You've just finished carefully control-selecting all those files you need to move off your desktop and into a container folder, and then, one hand slip later, you have twice as many to deal with. The How-To Geek finds the fix, both inside Microsoft's Swiss-Army-Fixer, TweakUI, and in two registry values you can find inside the HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop key. Change DragHeight...
