via Procrastineering - Project blog for Johnny Chung Lee by Johnny Chung Lee on June 23, 2008
... this post has been in the talks that I’ve been giving, but I’m just sitting down to write it out now for my trusty blog readers. 1. Throwable Displays using the Wii remoteThis I actually built and demoed in my lab at CMU.But, it only existed for about two days before I had to break it down to move and I didn’t get a chance to document it. Several months ago, a patent filed by Philips ...

Smart Train
via Tech Blog by (author unknown) on June 20, 2008
This new Smart Train system will basically neutralize "the need for trains to stop or decelerate at all when approaching the station itself." Video after the break.... the idea is to have a separate designated carriage for people wishing to board or alight the train which waits at the platform.[via Deputy-dog]

L’iPhone 3G n’a pas la cote au Japon?
via Belgium iPhone by Alex on June 16, 2008

Fretlight $500 Learning USB Guitar: Not Quite Light Enough
via Everything USB - Gadgets, Wireless USB, USB 3.0 by (author unknown) on June 04, 2008
On the surface, we approve of the idea of Fretlight Electric Guitar: including LEDs that light up to demonstrate chord shapes in this USB-powered axe seems like a good way to teach a beginner the basics of how to play, particularly in conjunction with the included educational software. The expanded chord and scale library built into the software is a good idea, too, as is the inclusion of tweaks...

Pandora Releases an AIR Application
via Digital Backcountry - Ryan Stewart's Flash Platform Blog by ryanstewart on June 03, 2008
Pandora is one of my favorite music services. They’ve got a great library and it’s an excellent way to discover music. They also have (I think) one of the larger user bases for online music. But I’d gotten so used to having my music outside the browser that I hadn’t listened to them in a while. But today I woke up to find that they’ve released a beta of a desktop client built on Adobe...

Le vélo c’est du pipeau
via w3sh magazine by Presko on May 28, 2008
Source No Tags
