via SMS Text News by Ewan on June 18, 2008
This week Mr Operator is looking at 4G. Don’t get too excited though, for us here in the West, it’s years away…- - - - - Sometimes you just can’t win. Until next year, when we (according to the media) demand actual Megabit...

Addressbook History goes into the cloud with App Engine
via Ajaxian by Dion Almaer on June 18, 2008
... to hear about App Engine at an Adobe conference? I think that Jonathan Schwartz got it when he mentioned rich internet back-ends. As you build rich clients, you suddenly realise that the promised benefits of web services can kick into gear nicely.Back to the sample. The architecture change was quite simple. Where I was doing a local DB save, I would call a back-end service such as /lo...

For the Future of Marketing, Look to Social Media
via GigaOM by Muhammad Saleem on June 16, 2008
There was a time not too long ago when the business implications of social media were unclear; resistance to it on the part of corporations, therefore, was somewhat understandable. Web 2.0 seemed like just the next Internet fad in a series of many, and while it was viewed as having value for individuals and enthusiasts, it didn’t seem viable for corporate use. But corporations need to realize...

Twitter Has Jumped The Shark
via The Inquisitr by Duncan Riley on June 07, 2008
Notice something about Twitter lately besides the constant downtime? It’s gotten quiet. Not deadly quiet, but when it is up every day there seems to be less and less being said. In my case gone are the days where I could use Twitter to track the latest breaking story or the days I had dozens of conversations. It’s not just me, Dave Winer and Rafe Needleman have both noticed as well, and...
