Fujitsu P8010 LE subnote brings the 3G, but also the pink
via Boing Boing Gadgets by (author unknown) on July 01, 2008
Shared by SharonG its pink! and shiny! WANT!!!1With it's new "pink gold" lifebook, Fujitsu leans toward a consumer market where its traditionally-bland designs rarely alight. The limited edition P8010 also has 3G wireless WAN, giving it a severe advantage over other lookers in the category, like Sony's TZ series. Specs are same as the standard edition, with up to2 GB of RAM, 250GB hard...

carrot colors are forbidden
via i am neurotic. by (author unknown) on July 01, 2008
Shared by SharonG when i was in kindergarten, i used to feel the same way about green shirts and brown pants. its like a tree! (especially around tubishvat!)Whenever I see green and orange paired together (like on a shirt), it upsets me because it looks like a carrot…but its not a carrot. It seems really wrong to me and I’ve never figured out why. I hate it though.

Is Feminism Doomed? [Complicated Conversations]
via Jezebel by Dodai on July 01, 2008
Today's Guardian has an interesting, epic piece penned by Kira Cochrane, detailing the "all-out assault" on feminism. Claims Cochrane, "The rights we thought were settled are suddenly under threat." She points out that a UK businessman named Alan Sugar recently discussed the law — passed in the '70s — which prevents employers from asking women whether they plan to have children....

Chad's Deadly Cocktail: Oil, Water, and Blood
via Danger Room by David Axe on July 01, 2008
Oil, water and blood. In Central Africa the three mix into one volatilecocktail. I came to Chad two weeks ago to understand how a rapidlyexpanding civil conflict, pitting tribal rebels versus repressiveregimes in three countries -- Chad, Sudan and the Central AfricanRepublic -- is exacerbated by Central Africa's growing oil reservesand dwindling supplies of natural resources, especially water...
