YouTube, Viddler or Seesmic?
via The lost outpost by Andy Piper on February 12, 2008
As regular readers will know, in the last couple of months I’ve been experimenting with video both on my blog, and also with video sites like Seesmic (I’m lucky enough to be one of their pre-alpha testers). At some stage I’ll write about the capture and editing aspects of this whole adventure, but not today. Facebook Makes it Easier to Delete Your Account, Sort Of
via ReadWriteWeb by Josh Catone on February 12, 2008
It was just Monday that the New York Times reported on the difficulty some users were having when trying to permanently delete their accounts from Facebook. The social networking site offers a "deactivate" feature, but still archives all of a user's personal information in case that user decides they miss Facebook and want back in. Cary Millsap of OFA,Optimising Oracle and OakTable fame has written the first part of one of those series (he'll finish before me) on how OFA got started. You can find it here. I don't have much to say on OFA itself - except that for my Apps readers I'm not talking about Oracle Financial Analyser - but this quote did jump out at me.I don't know about you, but when I practice some...

How the OFA Began, Part 1
via Cary Millsap by Cary Millsap on February 12, 2008
By all outward appearances, my Oracle career began in Miami when I presented paper 513 at 1991 International Oracle User Week. It was a paper called "Configuring a growing Oracle V6 database for optimal performance." That paper was an early milestone en route to what would eventually be known as the OFA Standard:The OFA Standard is a set of installation guidelines that will give you faster, more...
