Comments Aren't Rocket Science
via Recovering Journalist by (author unknown) on May 07, 2008
Shared by Charlie I just wonder when these folks are going to get it.I've said it before and I'll say it again (and again): Managing comments on newspaper Web sites isn't exactly rocket science. But newspapers seem to keep thinking that it is.Today's hapless example: The Day, of New London, Conn., which turned on comments and discovered that, HORRORS, contributors were posting...

via Churbuck.com by David Churbuck on May 13, 2008
All Things Cahill » Blog Archive » Social Media - Shark Jumping?Jeremiah’s Tweet that Avenue A has trademarked “social influence marketing” prompted me to ask rhetorically if the shark had been jumped. via Churbuck.com by (author unknown) on May 14, 2008
Shared by Charlie I've always thought Facebook, or something similar, would be a good collaboration tool within a corporation. The trick isn't just allowing it within the firewall, it's setting it up in a way that allows the individual to be part of the outer world as needed and the internal world without trade secrets getting out. Setting up an internal network to me is pointless...

via SarahLacy.com by sarah lacy on May 20, 2008
This is a guest post by my husband, photographer and designer Geoffrey Ellis. For other guest posts, hit the "guest post" tag.I mailed a handwritten letter to Miranda July the other day. Ican't remember the last time I wrote a letter and put it in themail, and I have never written to a...

This whole internet thing hasn't caught on as much as we think
via The Evolving Newsroom by noreply@blogger.com (Julie Starr) on May 23, 2008
Lee LeFever, he who makes those wonderful 'in Plain English' videos, posted a reality check recently about how those of us who spend a lot of time online forget that most people don't."We make videos, we put them on the Web, people watch them. We track our views, our Technorati links, our mentions in Twitter, our blog comments. A good percentage of people we see in social situations...
