Meet the TIV2: Built to drive right into a tornado
via CrunchGear by (author unknown) on May 15, 2008
... windows, and extra armor everywhere. What’s really clever is the movable side panels that shunt down into the ground when a tornado approaches. They prevent the wind from getting under the vehicle to make it airborne. The best part is it’s being constructed for an Imax documentary about tornadoes, and will get us the first shots from the inside of a twister. I will see this when it comes out.

Some German start-ups at Next08 just don’t get it
via The Next Web by (author unknown) on May 14, 2008
Shared by Dominik i18n ftw?So I’m am the Next08 conference watching some start-ups that give a five minute elevator pitch. I can’t understand them all, as not all the German entrepreneurs here are as smart as Amazee, Jupidi, Mikestar and Toksta, since they present in German. I’m sure this is more comfortable for them as it’s their native language, and of course, most of the services are...

Looking Forward
via A VC by (author unknown) on May 14, 2008
Shared by Dominik This is good stuff. So much of the news in the tech world this morning is about old news, Yahoo!, CNET, Plaxo. I suggest you ignore all of that and focus on what went on last night in San Jose at the annual Churchill Club Dinner. Some of the smartest minds in the venture capital business got up on stage and talked about the future. I have admired Vinod Khosla, Roger McNamee,...
