via www.variety.com by (author unknown) on May 14, 2008
Shared by Benjamin Golub I used to be obsessed with Fraggle Rock. So a few years ago I wanted to relive my childhood and rented them on VHS; I was so disappointed...it just wasn't as magical anymore. Hopefully the new movie won't be a let down to me.The Weinstein Co. will turn the Jim Henson series Fraggle Rock into a live-action musical feature..Film News, news from the entertainment...

Evite Alternative: Mobaganda
via bub.blicio.us by michellelentz on May 14, 2008
by Michelle Lentz At a reader’s request, I’m going to start reviewing some eVite alternatives. We all hate eVite - the need for our guests to register on their site, the ads, the emails with the lack of information. It’s time for something better, and there are a lot of alternatives out there. The reader specifically asked for some information on mobaganda, so I’ll start with that....

Guitar Hero IV drum kit gets pictured, "cymbals" and all
via Engadget by Darren Murph on May 14, 2008
Filed under: Gaming, PeripheralsGame Informer is at it once more: after securing the first snapshots of Rock Band's prototype drum set and microphone last summer, the gaming mag has now produced the first image of Guitar Hero IV's kit. Apparently designers wanted this one to resemble an actual electric kit a bit more than the one bundled with RB, most evidenced by the pair of "cymbals"...

Brand new Google Reader for iPhone
via Official Google Reader Blog by dolapo on May 12, 2008
Mobile web browsers have come a long way since we first introduced an XHTML version of Reader back in 2006. For example, iPhone and iPod Touch owners know how powerful having a full-featured browser is. We on the Reader team are heavy mobile Safari users. Sometimes we use it to kill time, other times for answering important questions that come up during brunch: What is Tyrol's first name? How...

How @replies work on Twitter (and how they might)
via Twitter Blog by Ev. on May 12, 2008
I see a lot of confusion around how "at replies"tweets that start with an @ and then a usernamework on Twitter. E.g.:@Veronica I vote they should be $2.00 each. Cut down on junk mail. Isn't that the only use of postal mail these days, anyway?10:59 AM May 09, 2008 from web in reply to VeronicaStarting my update with "@veronica" designates that I'm addressing her, specifically, much as...

XML: The Angle Bracket Tax
via Coding Horror by (author unknown) on May 12, 2008
Shared by Benjamin Golub XML doesn't suck; JSON just sucks a lot less.Everywhere I look, programmers and programming tools seem to have standardized on XML. Configuration files, build scripts, local data storage, code comments, project files, you name it -- if it's stored in a text file and needs to be retrieved and parsed, it's probably XML. I realize that we have to use something...

RSSmeme Launches API, Provides Filtering Tools Galore
via ReadWriteWeb by Sarah Perez on May 12, 2008
Benjamin Golub has been busy. He runs the site RSSmeme, an RSS aggregator that displays the top Shared Items items from Google Reader users. For a brief time, RSSmeme was the only Google Reader aggregator in town after ReadBurner closed up shop. But not too much later, ReadBurner was purchased and relaunched (our coverage), putting the two sites in competition once again. However, it looks like...
