FOR GREAT TOCK!
via Lemonodor by jjwiseman on April 28, 2008
Over the last 13 years Eric did his best to teach me about the manly mysteries of sideburns and other mojo, the female predilection for butt dances, vomit-inducing parabolic trajectories and recent work in unification grammars. He was a supporter of and mentor to lemonodor, and me.He knew we would miss him and he was right.I guarantee I'll be removing my pants in tribute to his memory.

Melodyne Sci-Fi
via Tinselman by tinselman on March 27, 2008
... is crazy cool! Have you actually installed it and tried it out? I watched the demo, and it's like I'm watching an audio version of one of those eye-rolling effects in a sci-fi, where they snapshot and image and then extrapolate a 3d model out of it, or "enhance" the bit depth of an image =). If I had seen this in a movie, I would have definitely laughed.Click here to see the demo.

Protecting Journalistic Integrity Algorithmically
via Lemonodor by jjwiseman on February 26, 2008
A couple years ago, when Reuters photographer Adnan Hajj got in trouble for some really bad Photoshopping, I fantasized about adapting Evolution Robotics' object recognition technology and using it to automatically screen news photos for suspicious alterations. It turns out you don't need something as advanced as VIPR to detect simple cloning/stamping. John Graham-Cumming recently posted...
