The Scorecard: Yankees are Hokies for a day
via Big League Stew - MLB - Yahoo! Sports by (author unknown) on March 17, 2008
Watch out, ladies.Derek Jeter and the Yankees are in Virginia Tech today, so if for some unknown reason you want to stay out of the Deuce's grasp, you can watch it free on MLB.TV.I may have mentioned this before, but what the Yankees are doing — visiting and raising money for a college campus that was struck by tragedy less than a year ago — is very admirable. A lot of fans out there hate the Yankees even more than the like their own teams, but it's a little hard to harbor animosity on a day like this. Heck, if the team can even allow reporters to fly on their plane today, even Red Sox fans can show a little appreciation for the pinstripes for a few minutes. [Bats Blog — NYT]
